Below are the questions I get asked most frequently, if you question isn't answered below, give me a call or send me an email and I will be more than happy to answer all your questions.
What areas do you travel to?
Locally we serve Destin, Panama City Beach, Pensacola, Navarre, Ft Walton, Seasdie, Watercolor, Watersound, Grayton Beach, Defuniak Springs, Freeport, Crestview and all those little beach towns inbetween.
We will travel anywhere for a wedding! Yes we love weddings and we love traveling, so just give us a call to see if we can meet your destination needs.
When should we schedule our session?
As our appointment book quickly during spring, summer and fall, schedule your appointment as far in advance as you can. If you are visiting our area make your appointment for the first day that your entire group will be available incase your session has to be reschedule due to bad weather. We monitor the weather frequently throughout the day to predict the best window of opportunity for your portraits as it rarely rains all day. So it is important that your schedule be flexible on the day of your session incase your time has to be changed. Beautiful portraits are obtained on cloudy days too as the lighting is very soft, there will be less squinting and the shadows won%u2019t be as harsh. If we can%u2019t complete your session on your scheduled date due to weather, we will reschedule you for another day and time.
How long will our session last?
Your session will last up to one hour, senior and and newborn sessions are generally longer. The location of your session is completely up to you as I am very flexible. If you are not really sure about where you want your session to take place, I would be happy to recommend the perfect place for your portrait session such as the beach, a local park, your hotel or condo or your own family home and backyard. The choices are unlimited. The emphasis during all sessions is on you the client being relaxed and having fun and me creating the images you are looking for. I will take a variety of portraits including candid and posed so you will have several different options to choose from when ordering. Parents are encouraged to be involved during your children's session as you know your children better than anyone and just what makes them smile and show their true personalities. I will work with your child to make sure that they are comfortable and having fun. There is no set number of images taken during a session. I will take as many as are necessary to insure that I have captured the portraits that you want.
Can we do different poses or separate family groups?
We will start your session off with group shots and then break down into individual and smaller groups as time allows. If you have any ideas or particular poses that you would like photographed , I will be happy to accommodate you as time allows. I will also do candid shots throughout the session.
Where do we meet?
We will meet at the location you have chosen for your portraits.
Can we get wet during our beach session?
If you would like water shots captured at the beach we will do these towards the end of your session. Remember to bring towels and a change of clothes.

You can pay the invoice online by credit card, or if you wish to pay by check, you may mail a check as long as it is received within 7 days of our conversation.
What is a session fee?
A session fee is a creative fee that is charged to cover the photographers time and effort in creating your portraits. Session fees vary depending on the type of portraits you are having created, the location and the time involved in creating your portraits. The session fee is not applied toward your purchased prints.
What should we wear for our portrait session?
Simple and comfortable are best. Clothing selection is critical and a general rule for family photography is to dress everyone in the same two colors, wear solid neutral colors, stick to lighter tones and pastels. Try to avoid prints, patterns, and stripes. Your faces should dominate the image and not your clothing, therefore you should avoid colors or elaborate prints that take attention away from you. Some suggestions for color combinations for family portrait sessions are white and khaki, blue jeans and white, pastels and khaki, black and khaki, black and jeans. For children, solid colors and denims and lacy dresses make for a wonderful portraits. If you are unsure, bring several outfits with you and I will help you choose. Newborns are best in the nude or with very simple clothing and bare feet. If you have a favorite rattle, beanie, booties, etc that you want your newborn photographed in or with, please feel free to bring these items with you.
How should I apply my makeup?
Wear your make-up as usual and make sure you use pressed powder to control shine. Do not wear any moisturizers or creams that are too oily or greasy as they will make your skin look oily and shinny! Avoid eye shadows and lipsticks that are glittery and avoid dark colored shadows, they really don't photograph well and casue un-natural shadows around and under the eyes. Use new mascara to avoid that clumpy look and remember to play up your eyes they are your most important facial features.
Men can wear makeup too, but I would never dream of telling them to do this, but maybe their wives can talk the ones who have oily/shinny skin into just a "wee bit" of pressed powder! (I won't tell if you don't tell!) Oh, and a fresh shave will really make a difference.
How do I style my hair?
I recommended that you wear your hair the way you normally do but since it may be windy outside, use lots of hairspray! And bring a comb or brush with you for touch ups. If the day of your session arrives and it's really windy, you may want to wear your hair in and updo style as we can't control the wind.
What if I wear eye glasses?
I realize that your eye glasses are part of who you are (believe me, my husband and I have this conversation every time I point my camera in his direction as he has worn glasses since his teen years) and I would never dream of asking you to remove them and I will do everything in my power to ensure that you look great wearing your glasses in your portraits. However your lenses are reflective and will reflect images in your line of vision, yes sometimes even the photographer. I use flash even outdoors and it will sometimes reflect off you glasses. That being said, it is a good idea to borrow a pair of frames with no lenses in them from your eye doctor that you can wear during your session.
How long does it take to get my pictures?
Your session photos should be online to view within 3 weeks of your session. You will receive an email from us directing you to your online album.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Unfortunately, weather conditions are out of our control so should the weather be bad with heavy rain or strong winds, then we will reschedule the shoot and I will contact you as soon as possible if this is necessary. If you are visiting our area on vacation it is a good idea to book your session as early into your stay as possible in case it has to be rescheduled due to weather. Often in Florida during our summer we have lots of scattered showers that come and go all day long. If this is the case on the day of your session, I may call you and arrange to shoot your session at a different time of the day in-between the showers as it is not necessary to have bright sunshine for a successful portrait session, in fact, a slightly cloudy day is often much more ideal. If you are an out of town client and we are unable to complete your session due to weather and I can't reschedule due to your schedule or mine, your session fee will be refunded.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask :o)
